Fulton Learning Center/Aquarium at Rockport Harbor Junior Docent Program |

Fulton 4-5 Learning Center began a new enrichment program to their campus science department this year. As a way to increase awareness of life inhabiting our local marine ecosystems, science coordinator Martha McLeod established a junior docent program in coordination with the Aquarium staff and senior docents.
Once a month, a team of students volunteer their time on the weekends to share with the public their knowledge of both the flora and fauna native to our waters. The benefit from this endeavor is two-fold: the students gain a better understanding and appreciation of our marine life while also enriching the knowledge base of the tourists visiting our area. |
| The students are shown correct social etiquette when greeting and speaking with adults. Students also share exhibits from their science class while becoming familiar with the displays the Aquarium has. Hopefully, students will continue their interest in marine science and eventually pursue this on into their college studies. |
